Role and Responsibilities

The Concrete Formwork Carpenter is responsible for the following:

· Assemble and build concrete forms from various materials

· Anchor and brace forms and other structures using various fasteners

· Oversee and assist with concrete pours

· Read and interpret blueprints

· Follow established safety rules and regulations

· Maintain a safe and clean working environment

· All other tasks requested

Preferred Skills

· Ability to read blueprints

· Proficient in measuring, cutting, and figuring angles

· Own required carpentry hand tools

· Have reliable transportation to and from the jobsite

Essential requirements

· Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to both get in and out of trenches and up to elevated platforms (scaffolding at significant heights)

· Manual lifting of necessary equipment and materials 1-75 pounds, 50% of the time on a monthly basis for required tasks

· Driving if required to travel

· Use of respirator if position requires

· Sit, stoop, crawl, and kneel

· Standing

· Walking on uneven terrain, with an average of 2 miles per day

· If driving is required, valid driver license and proof of insurability is required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background records search.

· High School Degree, GED or equivalent degree required

· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening

· Must be able to work around moving equipment (e.g. forklifts, pallet jacks)

· Outside the majority of the time

· Potential exposure to extreme cold and hot temperatures

· Fit and move in confined spaces

· Limited working surfaces

· Exposure to noise above 85 decibels

· Exposure to areas with limited visibility

Additional Notes

This position has the availability of up to 50% light duty tasks. The standard responsibilities however, do include up to 100% labor intensive activities which require full mobility and use of all five senses.
